The Different Types of Alzheimer's
Reverse Alzheimer's by Addressing Your Subtype
The Bredesen Protocol organizes root causes for Alzheimer’s by categories or subtypes.
There are a total of 6 subtypes:
- Type 1 Chronic Inflammatory Alzheimer’s
- Type 1.5 Glycotoxic Alzheimer’s
- Type 2 Trophic Loss
- Type 3 Toxic Alzheimer’s
- Type 4 Vascular Alzheimer’s
- Type 5 Traumatic Alzheimer’s
Most patients have a combination of several subtypes. This is common because the body is unlikely to develop a serious chronic illness without a combination of different things going wrong, all at the same time. The key is to identify which of the categories feature most significantly for you, and address a minimum of your top 2 subtypes.
Identifying the subtypes for an individual requires a combination of medical intake, as well as laboratory results. For a quick pre-laboratory evaluation, click here for our online questionnaire that helps you identify your subtype.
